LITTLE SHIELD Kids Cold & Flu Defense Blend Suitable for children ages 2 and up
Little Shield is a gentle, naturally sweet, and completely kid-friendly immune support blend crafted specifically for little bodies. Every herb in this blend was carefully selected for its safety profile in children, its effectiveness in supporting the immune system, and its pleasant, fruity flavor that kids will actually enjoy drinking. No echinacea, no peppermint, no harsh or potent herbs — just pure, gentle botanical wisdom in every cup.
Designed to be used at the first sign of a sniffle, a scratchy throat, or that tired, run-down feeling that signals something is coming, Little Shield gives parents a natural, nourishing tool to support their child's body through cold and flu season. It is also gentle enough to be used as a daily immune tonic during high-risk seasons — back to school, winter months, and any time illness is circulating in your household.
HERBS IN THIS BLEND
Elderberry — the gold standard children's immune herb, rich in anthocyanins and vitamin C, deeply antiviral and widely used in pediatric wellness
Mullein Leaf — one of the gentlest and most effective herbs for children's respiratory health, loosens mucus and soothes the lungs and throat
Lemon Balm — calming, antiviral, and naturally sweet tasting, supports immune function while easing the fussiness and restlessness that comes with being sick
Hibiscus — vitamin C rich, tart and fruity, kids love the flavor, supports healthy inflammatory response and immune signaling
Raspberry Leaf — mild, pleasant, and mineral rich, delivers magnesium and iron that support immune cell production and help replenish what illness depletes

The elderberry and hibiscus deliver a pleasant berry-tart flavor while the lemon balm adds a subtle sweetness. Raspberry leaf rounds it out with a mild, clean finish. HOW TO BREW BY AGE
Ages 2–4: Steep 1/2 teaspoon of Little Shield in 6 oz of warm (not boiling) water for 7–8 minutes. Strain thoroughly. Cool to a comfortable drinking temperature. Sweeten with a small amount of raw honey if desired (never give honey to children under 1 year). Offer 1/2 to 1 small cup once daily during illness or 3–4 times per week as a preventative tonic.
Ages 5–8: Steep 1 teaspoon of Little Shield in 8 oz of boiling water for 8–10 minutes. Strain and cool. Sweeten with raw honey or a small amount of maple syrup. Offer 1 cup daily during illness or every other day as a seasonal immune tonic.
Ages 9–12: Steep 1–2 teaspoons of Little Shield in 8 oz of boiling water for 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy warm or iced. Can be offered 1–2 cups daily during illness. May also be cooled and served as an iced tea or mixed with apple juice for picky drinkers.
Ages 13 and up: Full adult brewing strength applies. May graduate to Shield Up (adult cold & flu blend) or Fortress (daily immune booster) for more comprehensive immune support.
MAKING IT FUN FOR KIDS

Let them add their own honey and stir it in — kids love being involved
Call it their "superhero tea" or "shield potion" to make it exciting
Cool completely and pour over ice with a splash of apple juice for a kid-friendly iced tea
Freeze brewed Little Shield into ice pops for sick days — a fun and soothing treat
SUGGESTED USE PROTOCOLS
During Active Illness: Brew at age-appropriate strength and offer 1–2 cups daily for up to 7–10 consecutive days. Discontinue and consult a pediatrician if symptoms worsen or persist beyond 5–7 days.
Seasonal Prevention (Back to School, Winter): Brew 3–4 times per week at half strength as a daily immune tonic throughout the high-risk season. Take a 2-week break every 6–8 weeks of continuous use.
After Illness Recovery: Continue 1 cup every other day for 1–2 weeks post-illness to help rebuild immune strength and replenish depleted minerals.
WHAT PARENTS SHOULD KNOW
Always consult your child's pediatrician before introducing herbal teas, especially for children under 2
Start with a small amount (2–3 sips) the first time to check for any sensitivity or allergic reaction
Elderberry and hibiscus can occasionally cause mild digestive upset in very sensitive children — reduce the amount if this occurs
This blend is food-grade and made from culinary-quality dried herbs, but it is not a substitute for medical care
If your child has a known allergy to any plant in the Asteraceae family (ragweed, daisies, chamomile), consult a healthcare provider before use
Never give honey-sweetened tea to children under 1 year of age
